    • Several Million Dollars for Community Infrastructure and Hazard Mitigation Provided by FEMA

      OLYMPIA, Wash. — Because of a federal disaster declaration following the Jan. 27 through Feb. 4 winter storms and slides, the State of Washington is in the process of receiving funds through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that will help more than 60 applicants, including seven tribes, in 11 counties with disaster recovery expenses.     • Lakes Charles Disaster Recovery Center Phases Out on June 30

      LAKE CHARLES, La. — The Lake Charles Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Calcasieu Parish became a heavily trafficked site following its October 13th opening at 1701 Ryan Street in Lake Charles. Like so many other areas of southwest Louisiana, it was badly damaged by Hurricane Rita. At 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30 the DRC will close. [more]
